KVGB disburses 44.28 yen loan to outreach program


Dharwad Region of Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) disbursed loans to the tune of ₹ 44.28 crore to nearly 725 beneficiaries under various heads at the customer outreach initiative organized under the auspices of the Bankers Committee at state level (SLBC), according to P Gopi Krishna, chairman of the KVGB.

He said the customer outreach initiative was held on Thursday to boost credit in the retail, agriculture and MSME sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, B Chandrasekhar Rao, president of SLBC, advised bankers to focus on agricultural lending and ensure financial inclusion of all segments of society. He called on small and medium entrepreneurs and citizens to use the loan facilities offered by various banks, including regional rural banks. He delivered loan sanction letters to KVGB borrowers.

KVGB highlighted solar powered livelihood solutions during the customer outreach initiative.

Ullas Gunaga, chief executive of KVGB, said the bank is funding livelihood solutions supported by solar power. The intention is that these livelihood solutions help micro and small entrepreneurs, the economically weaker sections, and contribute to sustainable agriculture and the empowerment of women. He said solar technology company SELCO provides technology interventions, market links, banking and financial inclusion support, and training for capacity building.
